Before you type your credit card details or any personal information on any website, It is important to check
the URL of the website. URLs are either  in this form - http://www.website.com or https://www.website.com. Did you spot the difference between the two URLs? In case if you didn't, the first URL does not have any 's' after the 'p'. "HTTP" means hyper text transfer protocol while "HTTPS" means hyper text transfer protocol secure.

If you don't see HTTPS , don't provide any personal information about yourself because.
Insecure Connection

By using "HTTPS", the computers agree on a code between them. The computer uses this code to make sure no one can read between them. HTTPS also make use of TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) to send and receive packet data, but it does it so over port 443, within a connection encrypted by Transport Layer Security (TLS). TLS is also known as SSL (Secure Socket Layer).  Whenever you connect to a website, the computer or device will check it against the server's credentials. Your computer or device will then figure out the best way to encrypt information and then send it a small test drive to make sure they can properly share information under an encrypted information



NOTE: Vulnerabilities  has been found in SSL many years back. There are attack vectors that SSL is not designed to handle. This means that information can also be at risk under HTTPS connections.
